Class Overview:
Have you ever been curious about wood turning and wanted to move from theory to hands-on experience? Now’s your chance! Join master wood turner Elmer Miller—an accomplished artisan whose work has been featured in art shows across the country—for an immersive and practical introduction to this timeless craft.
As a lifelong learner and PhD-trained instructor, Elmer offers a professional, supportive environment in his fully equipped wood shop located in Murdock, Nebraska. His Introduction to Wood Turning course is designed to build both confidence and competence, guiding you from the basics to creating your very own turned piece.
Who It’s For:
Beginners looking to explore the fundamentals of wood turning in a small, personalized setting.
Course Format:
- Total of 8 hours, split over two days (4 hours per day)
- Day 1 (starts 100 PM, ends 500 PM), Day 2 (starts 800 AM, ends 1200 Noon)
- Lunch provided both days
- Combination of classroom instruction and hands-on experience
- Taught in a fully equipped, professional wood shop
- Each student will create and take home a handcrafted turned item

On premise at As The Windmill Turns wood shop in Murdock, Nebraska
Class Size:
Maximum of 4 students per session to ensure individualized instruction
Cost:
$395 per student (includes instruction, materials, safety equipment, lunches and beverages)

- Full refund available for cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the class
- 50% refund for cancellations made within 7 days of class
- All students must sign a waiver (found here) and wear appropriate shop attire.
